Singer-songwriter-producer Niche, a.k.a Anisha Lakshmanan, has been classically trained (Hindustani and Carnatic) for over 25 years. She completed her Master’s in Contemporary Performance from Berklee College of Music and is exploring her sound with her versatile music that defies genres and breaks stereotypes.

​She performs an eclectic set of multilingual compositions that is a reflection of an artist known to pride in her cultural heritage. Her love for variety reflects in her repertoire with genres like Jazz, Pop, Rock, Indian Classical, Sufi and everything retro.

Niche has been a voice coach for over 6 years and was a faculty member at SVKM’s NMIMS School of Performing Arts for 3 years, heading the vocal department for 2 years. 

While at NMIMS, she created the curriculum for some of the vocal modules. She also created the Lyric Writing course’s curriculum and started the lyric writing program at the university.

In 2022, Alongside fellow Berklee Grad –  Janani Suresh, Niche co-founded Oviym, a Music Education company focussing on originality and creativity, through songwriting.
